Virginia softball players will get the chance to train with Division I coaches and players at the Nike Softball Camp Norfolk State University.
Directing the camp will be head coach, James Inzana. Coach Inzana is in his second year at the helm for the Spartans. So far this season, Norfolk State is in first place in the MEAC Northern with a conference record of 8-1 and an overall record of 21-15. Prior to his time in Norfolk, Coach Inzana was instrumental in helping Virginia Wesleyan to a NCAA Division III National Title in 2017 and five ODAC titles. Coach Inzana has over 30 years of softball coaching experience in Hawaii, California, South Carolina and Virginia. His 2003 travel team placed 14th nationally while his 2006 team won the Virginia state championship.
This youth softball day camp at Norfolk State runs from August 5 through August 7. The camp is designed for softball players looking to train at a high level, with focused and intensive training over three days. Each day is filled with softball drills and games designed to improve players’ hitting, base-running, fielding, and knowledge of the game. Athlete are broken into groups with other players of similar age, abilities and goals.
