The Dirty Dozen SEO Mistakes Agents Make

August 7th, 2009 by Randy Eagar

  1. Not thinking about your URL or website address. Your URL helps tell the search engine what your site is about.
  2. Not thinking about your website Title. Your Title should also be “keyword rich”. This is the second most important area for the search engines to read.
  3. Buying several domain names is a good investment (if they are truly keyword rich), but pointing them all to your website will add no value as search engines only read pages with content on them. If you want to use each of them with a one-page landing page, that would help.

5 Blog Posts That Might Capture Your Interest

July 28th, 2009 by Randy Eagar

  1. Interviews –
    1. Sometimes when you’ve run out of insightful things to say it might be a good idea to let someone else do the talking in an interview (or a guest post).
    2. This is a great way to not only give your readers a relevant expert’s opinion but to perhaps even learn something about the topic you’re writing yourself. One tip if you’re approaching people for an interview on your blog – don’t overwhelm them with questions.
    3. One of two good questions are more likely to get you a response than a long list of poorly thought through ones.

March 6th, 2009 by Randy Eagar

Do you understand the meaning of this word? Compelling.
It means “forceful,” “convincing,” “persuasive,” “undeniable,” and “gripping.” Now you know what a truly successful Ninja website should be.

Take a look at your own website. Ask yourself this question: If I were a buyer/prospect, and I came to this site, is there something here in the first 9 seconds that grabs my attention enough to make me want to stay and read more?

More than this, is there something here that makes me want to give this person my name, email and/or phone number? Answer honestly. If you’re honest, 95% of you will say “No.”

545 vs. 300,000,000

March 5th, 2009 by Randy Eagar

I think that I have seen this post before, but with all that is going on I find it of particular interest now. It comes from Charlie Reese, a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper. He states the following:

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

The Online Press Release Can Be Your Most Powerful Ally

January 5th, 2009 by Randy Eagar

With the huge surge of “social marketing” has come new services and opportunities. One of these is the online press release. Whether you call it a news release, media release, press release or press statement is a written or recorded communication directed at members of news media services for the purpose of announcing something claimed as having news value. Note that the “press release” is not a “marketing tool” . . . at least not directly. But it can have enormous impact on your real estate SEO.

“Mark to Market” . . . Hip or Hype?

September 30th, 2008 by Randy Eagar

What is Mark to Market, and why are so many “experts” saying that this is either our biggest financial problem or the way out of our current financial debaucle?

First a quick overview from Wikipedia:
In accounting and finance, mark to market is the act of assigning a value to a position held in a financial instrument based on the current market price for the instrument or similar instruments. For example, the final value of a futures contract that expires in 9 months will not be known until it expires. If it is marked to market, for accounting purposes it is assigned the value that it would fetch in the open market currently.

Okay, so far so good, but what has this got to do with real estate?

The Need For Feeds: RSS Feed Applications

May 27th, 2008 by Randy Eagar

What is an RSS Feed?

RSS is an acronym for Real Simple Syndication. RSS feeds are free content feeds from Web sites that contain article headlines, summaries and links back to full-text articles on the Web or to other Blog Sites. The article that you are reading is actually a post in a blog that you can subscribe to . . . anonymously. That’s only one of the beauties of RSS Feeds.
